Sending his handmade
shoes to Japan.

There are no few Japanese customers ordering
their shoes by fax, which may be due to the book
of Mr. Matsuyama's. There were dozens of orders
from Japan when we visited his shop. It is enough
for customers to order their shoes with the
information of shape and size of their feet.
Explaining so, Mr. Mannina showed us packages,
"I will send this to Japan."


After kind explanations of Mr. Mannina's, we returned to the front part of the store. There were some Japanese sightseeing visitors. Mrs. Mannina and a young female clerk, capable of speaking English, engaged with these customers with smiles. I thought the Japanese would find something excellent in this shop.
Mannina is not so a big brand as like Gucci or Ferragamo. However, I surely felt that fan of Mannina is gradually increasing. You will feel something good when you visit Mannina.

Mr. Mannina came to Tokyo after three weeks of my visit to Firenze. That was for attending the great Italian fair took place in the departmentstore, Isetan, demonstrating of making shoes and receiving orders. During six days of the fair, there were so many people visited his booth, and so many orders he received. I also went to Tokyo from Kansai using superexpress train, and visited him. There was no vacations during this stay in Japan. And he could not go out for sightseeing. So I want to guide him Kansai, especially Kyoto and Nara, in his next visit of Japan.
